We offer one of the widest ranges of AS and A2 Levels in Lincolnshire ˇV 20 subjects ˇV many of which are not available elsewhere locally, plus several valuable GCSE classes. Teaching styles include direct tuition, discussion groups and independent study using learning resources.

Our average pass rate is now 96%. 13 out of 21 subjects offered in 2008 achieved a 100% pass rate, including Accounting, Law, Mathematics and Further Maths, etc. The quality of our Maths teaching in particular was praised recently with the inclusion of the College in the ˇ§Good Schools Guideˇ¨. We are one of the few Colleges to be features in this publication.

International Foundation



The aim of the course is to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in the British University system. It ensures that your English will be good enough to cope with University level study. You will learn how to make good use of libraries and learning resources and you will spend time improving your study skills so you can take good notes, write essays and reports, make presentations and prepare for examinations.

Accounting AAT Foundation



AAT is a valuable and a recognized professional Accounting qualification. This course is a starting point for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in Accounting. Students can commence study with no previous Accounting knowledge. This course uses a competence based and practical approach to study. Students will have guaranteed access to level 1 of the BA (Hon.) Accountancy degree at the University of Lincoln.

Higher Education

 

The College has a number of different university partners. Students will be studying for exactly the same course as you would in the partner University. Therefore, students are studying a University Degree at the College before moving on to University to complete the degree. Generally, students would spend the first 2 years of the course at Boston and then enter the final year/s at the University of your choice.

Computing System Engineering BSc (Hons)
This degree will provide you with a sound knowledge of software engineering principles and practice, and give you the technical skilled needed to develop such systems. The course teaches how to analyze and design software systems from specifying the requirements through to the implementation and testing of the system. In the development stage you will write programs in languages such as Java, Visual Basic and JavaScript and use other application software. The main emphasis of the course is programming an software engineering, however it also considers hardware, web design, networks and database design.

Age: 18 or above
Duration:
3 years or 2 years (after completing the 1st and 2nd year, students are able to enter the final year at The University of Sunderland)

British Council Recognises High Standards at Boston College
Boston College is approved by the British Council for its English Language Teaching, having achieved (BASELT) British Association of State English Language Teaching. So you can be sure that the quality of teaching is good and the College cares greatly for its students.

Join Boston College at most times during the year
The course is taught in 6 week modules making it a flexible course which you can join at almost anytime of the year. However, the college can accommodate students into these courses at most times during the academic year.



How the course is structured
You will join a group of students with broadly similar ability, from elementary to upper Intermediate and you can progress through the levels during the year. The elementary group would normally be a very small group and students would get a lot of intensive help to improve their English level quickly. Vocational Diplomas/Advanced vocational diplomas (NVQ/BTEC)

If you know what career you are aiming for and would like to develop the required knowledge and skills immediately you can choose from Boston College's wide range of vocational qualifications. These diplomas prepare you for a particular area of employment. Many British students now prepare to enter University with such diplomas which, at an Advanced level, are an alternative to A Levels. Advanced diplomas require two years of study.

You can enter these courses with good basic school-leaving passes or with relevant work experience from your own country.

Summer School Programme


If you would like to improve your English, make new friends with other international students, and have fun meeting English people then Boston College is the place of you.

Improve your English
You will improve your English Language skills during the 16 hours of teaching each week. You will cover all aspects of the English Language; reading, writing, listening speaking. Classes are small, usually 8 - 10 in a group, so you will get lots of individual attention from our excellent teachers. These classes are held in the mornings, leaving lots of time in the afternoon for trips and social activities.

Have fun, relax and explore!
You will be taken to some of the most famous and popular cultural centres in England. For example - London, Cambridge and York. Let the teachers know at the start of the Summer School course if there is a special place you would like to go and they will try to arrange it. Join in activities such as bowling, swimming or the cinema. Use some of your free time to explore the historic town of Boston and to visit the local market shops.

Stay with a local family
All students live with a local family during Summer School. This gives you more time to practice your English and to learn about English culture and customs.
