Boston College is proud of the care and support it
offers students, especially those from overseas. As
well as their tutors, international students have a
team of people available to support them throughout
their time in Boston.
|
International
Administrator
Your first point of contact when applying to Boston College
will be the International Office. The International Administrator
and her assistant can advise you about entry into the
UK, visas and fees. When you are a student at Boston the
International Office will continue to offer advice and
support on these issues and will keep your family informed
of your progress.
Accommodation Officer
All international students are guaranteed accommodation
on arrival. Choose from modern purpose-built Halls of
Residence with single study-bedrooms, or Homestay accommodation
with local families. All Homestay accommodation is inspected
and approved by the College. If you prefer, rented student
housing is also available in Boston. Please request an
accommodation leaflet for further information.
Personal Tutor
All students at Boston have a Personal Tutor to help
support their academic studies. You will meet with your
Tutor regularly, at least once a week, to discuss your
work, agree targets and resolve any problems.

Careers Adviser
Advice about going to University and future career choices
is available from the College's full-time professional Careers
Adviser.
Conselling and Health
Student Counsellors are always available to help with any
personal worries and the College Nurse can advise you on any
medical problems.
Settling In
It is important that students, who may be living away
from home for the first time, enjoy the best possible start
to their studies in the UK. At Boston we help by offering:
| - |
FREE Airport collection when you first arrive in the UK. |
| - |
FREE Orientation programme before you start your course. During this programme you will learn about the College, meet fellow students, start to make new friends and visit some local places of interest. |
| - |
FREE registration with a local medical practice. Medical treatment whilst you are in the UK is generally also free, through the British National Health Service. |
| - |
FREE use of Email facilities, to help you stay in touch with home. |
